圆盘式气流粉碎机的原理是:用压缩气体通过加料喷射器，把原料带入粉碎室，物料在分布于主机圆盘周围的多个喷嘴喷射的高速气流带动下，以切线的方式喷射到筒体的刚玉内壁上,达到碰撞、摩擦粉碎的效果。受到强烈气流有规律的冲击，造成物料互相撞击、剪切，并与磨腔周壁及上、下盖的反撞击，形成三种粉碎条件，达到粉碎目的。通过调节粉碎室纵向深度、粉碎压力或者加料速度，来控制粉碎细度。相对流化床气流粉碎机，粉碎细度的可控性弱一些，但是对于具有一定粘度的物料来说，具有很好的粉碎效果。
